Services

What we do

02

AI solutions & agentic systems

  • Assistants and agents that answer questions from company knowledge, analyse documents and recordings, and help troubleshoot issues
  • Human approval built in for sensitive actions
  • Provider-neutral design: changing AI provider is a configuration change, not a rewrite
  • Secured with your company sign-on and monitored for quality and cost

03

Cloud-native engineering & modernisation

  • Scalable, event-driven and serverless systems on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
  • Modernisation of legacy and self-hosted systems onto managed cloud services
  • Secure, multi-tenant platforms with strong identity and access control

04

  • Real-time data pipelines that connect business systems as events happen
  • Replacing slow batch processing with event-driven data platforms
  • Reliable data flows for regulatory reporting

05

Platform engineering & developer productivity

  • Automated build, test and release pipelines, with infrastructure defined as code
  • Reusable service templates, so every new service starts production-ready
  • On-demand test environments for every change
  • Teams ship more often, with fewer failed releases

06

Architecture & technical leadership

  • Architecture reviews and modernisation roadmaps
  • API-first design that lets several teams build in parallel
  • Hands-on technical leadership of greenfield products
  • Onboarding and knowledge transfer for distributed teams (UK, Serbia, Canada and India)

We work across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and with the leading AI model providers.

Selected work

Recent engagements

EV charging & energy technology · 2025–2026

Ohme

Enterprise AI assistant platform

Outcome A secure, observable AI platform that the business can extend with new agents and features without changing its core.

How we did it
Need
Trustworthy AI assistance for Ohme's internal teams and customer-facing flows, grounded in company knowledge.
What we did
Designed and built the AI platform end to end: assistants that answer questions from company knowledge and help troubleshoot issues, with human approval for sensitive steps, company single sign-on, and monitoring of quality and cost. Moved the platform onto managed cloud services.

AI products for business · 2025

NexGen Architects

Multi-tenant AI platform

Outcome A distributed UK and India team built six services and seven AI agents in parallel on this foundation. A new service went from template to deployed in a single day, and switching AI provider became a configuration change.

How we did it
Need
A foundation for an AI product that ingests documents and meeting recordings, analyses them and answers questions over the results, for many client organisations.
What we did
Built the multi-tenant foundation: secure isolation for each organisation, event-driven processing pipelines, a shared service framework, and API contracts that let teams work in parallel.

Energy · 2024–2025

OVO Energy (E.ON)

Real-time data platform

Outcome Developers could create production-ready services within minutes, and bug detection time fell from hours to minutes.

How we did it
Need
Replace legacy batch data processing with a modern, real-time data platform.
What we did
Designed an event-driven data platform on Google Cloud, with standard service templates and an automated test environment for every change.

Energy trading · 2023–2024

BP

Regulatory trade-reporting pipelines

Outcome Daily changes were delivered quickly and consistently through fully automated pipelines.

How we did it
Need
Reliable pipelines feeding oil and energy trade data into regulatory reporting under EMIR, MAS and ASIC.
What we did
Standardised every data-processing component on one codebase that can be tested and debugged locally, with automated deployment for each component and infrastructure defined as code.

How we engage

Ways to work with us

01

Discovery & architecture assessment

A short, fixed-scope engagement: current-state review, target architecture and a prioritised roadmap.

02

Outcome-based delivery (Statement of Work)

Defined deliverables, milestones and acceptance criteria. EXTUNI takes responsibility for delivering the agreed outcome.

03

Technical leadership

Senior engineering leadership inside your team for a defined period, to stand up a platform and enable your engineers.

Every engagement closes with a documented handover.

Why EXTUNI

Senior, accountable, accelerated by AI

  • AI-accelerated, quality built in

AI agents work inside a standardised workflow with automated tests and code review, so features ship faster and more predictably, with fewer defects.

  • Senior from day one

No ramp-up and no hand-off to junior staff: the person who designs the solution builds it.

  • Platforms, not just projects

We build reusable foundations (service templates, shared frameworks, automated pipelines) so teams keep delivering faster after we leave.

  • Vendor-neutral

Hands-on across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and across AI providers. We recommend what fits.

  • Transparent and lean

Clear scope, regular demos and direct access to the engineer doing the work.

About

About EXTUNI

EXTUNI LTD is a London-based software engineering consultancy, founded in 2018 by Kenan Hancer. We help organisations design, build and modernise software platforms, and we use AI throughout our own delivery to make it simpler, faster and more predictable. We also build production-grade AI for our clients: assistants and agents that work with their own data, run reliably and stay secure.

Every engagement is led and delivered hands-on by our founder and principal consultant, who brings more than 20 years of engineering experience across telecoms, energy, financial services, insurance, retail, media and healthcare. We work as an extension of our clients' teams, and we leave them stronger: documented architecture, reusable foundations and engineers who can run and extend what we built.

Our values

  • Knowledge. We keep learning and share what we learn through open-source libraries, a technical blog and public demo projects.
  • Craft. Well-defined engineering practices deliver consistent quality.
  • Enablement. Success is a team that can run and extend what we built.
  • Trust. Honesty and openness in every engagement, building long-term relationships.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does EXTUNI do?

EXTUNI LTD is a London-based software engineering consultancy, founded in 2018. We design, build and modernise software platforms, we use AI throughout our own delivery to make it simpler, faster and more predictable, and we build production-grade AI for our clients: assistants, agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) over their own data.

What is AI-accelerated software delivery?

A standardised, agentic workflow in which AI agents take each ticket from analysis and planning through implementation, testing and code review, inside the client's existing tools and process. Every change follows the same steps and quality gates, so features ship faster and more predictably, with fewer defects. We have applied it at Turner & Townsend and On.

Which cloud platforms and AI providers do you work with?

AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and the leading AI model providers. Our designs are provider-neutral: changing AI provider is a configuration change, not a rewrite.

How do engagements work?

Three ways: a short, fixed-scope discovery and architecture assessment; outcome-based delivery under a Statement of Work, with defined deliverables, milestones and acceptance criteria; or senior technical leadership inside your team for a defined period. Every engagement closes with a documented handover.

Which industries and clients have you worked with?

Telecoms, energy, financial services, insurance, retail, media and sport, healthcare, hospitality and professional services. Clients include Turner & Townsend, Ohme, OVO Energy (E.ON), BP, Lloyds Banking Group, Formula 1 and Discovery Channel.

Where are you based?

We are based in London, United Kingdom, and work with clients worldwide.

Is EXTUNI a registered and insured company?

Yes. EXTUNI LTD is registered in England & Wales (company number 11256545), is VAT-registered (GB 514 1717 18) and has professional insurance in place.
